cold light
January 1st, 2008 by ryan
So I’ve changed how I post photos on here, from now on I’m just going to have a link here to a gallery, it’s easier cause I can just make the gallery in lightroom. So it’s a new year today, and to start the year off on the right foot (and to keep my mind off my hangover) I whipped up about 5 litres of Xtol developer and am back developing again. I processed a roll of apx 100 that was laying around, I really like that film a lot. After that I processed a roll of TriX from this week, I ran out of wash on the apx roll so the TriX is a little dirty and pushed to 3200 iso.
SO on roll one are some shots from san francisco from september, You’ll note in frame one that I’ve become a private investigator. The shot is just of the house where I was staying with friends of my parents, great people. We went to a highland games festival and saw all kinds of crazy people there. The Marines tried to get me to sign up, I liked that their giant inflatable marine was missing the lower half of his legs, you think someone would have picked up on that. I finished the rest of that roll this week, you can see my new winter bike I went for a ride up into this weird area of Toronto that seems like a crater on the top of a hill, all the houses there are 50’s style post war houses, pretty weird place, sure doesn’t feel like Toronto to me. The second roll is just shots from the last two weeks, parties mostly.

Quite a nice way of viewing the frames! I like a black background better anyways for viewing b/w photos.
The APX has some damn nice smooth tones! I don’t think I can remember the last time I shot 100 iso, haha.
Love the frames of the kid eating! Really nice highlights.
Also the Macbook frame is really cool I think! And the shots of the lady in tigerprint!
Graham is such a rock star. Somebody get that man a heroine addiction.
Sarcasm?
If so: I'm a big fan of Underworld-Kate Beckinsale… I dunno about "addicted".
…heroin(e)
No, not sarcasm. Probably just my own love of The Becker subconsciously working its way into my statements through unforgivable spelling errors.
She is glorious.
Hey Ryan!
I would love to look at this post’s photos, but when I click on the image, only one a part picture shows up… any thoughts?
Love your recent stuff! Esp. the one with the chair in the streets, and the upward shot of the courtyard balconies… very nice!
