These are My Twisted Words
Got a bit of film back recently. I went up to montreal for the Rogers Cup. I had never been to a tennis tournament before and Evan was kind enough to host me. We have a portrait that sums up our weekend nicely.
Some of the other shots are from when clay and emily and I went and hung out with my parents and took their boat out for a spin. More shots of me than usual on that little trip.
I got new batteries for my camera but am still having trouble metering with my 50mm, not sure what the deal is, but I’ve just been metering externally.
ok

Haven’t visited in a while, like how you’ve gone from the linked galleries to full-sized (and less) photos in the post. Way better to look at.
It does look better. I also stopped shooting digital and 35mm. So it’s a little easier to decide what to post.
You mean you stopped both, or just 35mm on digital? What are you shooting mostly then these days? You’re using a 4×5 in one post, which one is it? Thinking about a Tachihara 4×5 since a while ^^
Basically just shooting 645 and some 4×5. I’d like to just consolidate both formats and get a 6×7 rangefinder.
I see. Makes sense. In case you’re interested: Heard that the Japanese have a reputation of taking especially good care of their cameras, so 2nd-hand cameras from Japan can be a good buy. Before going to Japan recently I had asked a guy who told me his friend http://www.japanexposures.com/ does “camera sourcing” – finds you the (new or used) camera you want and charges a small comission for that. Might be an option for the 6×7 rangefinder models that are not as available in the US/Canada/Europe as in Japan. Haven’t tried it though.
Interesting. I’ll keep that in mind.
I have had really good luck with a company in the states. http://www.keh.com They have really great prices for second hand and they have a very accurate rating system.
Right, just read Matt Alofs’ current post, where he’s saying he bought a camera from there. Sucks that I have to pay customs when shipping to Europe tough :p
hahaha!
I love this blog, from your link.

Oh and did you stop shooting 35mm digital for personal work or commercial work too? Curious because it is true that one tends to shoot more with a digital camera, then again it sometimes does take more shots to take a good photo. Just the selection after that is a pain.
I only shoot digital for work.
