I’ve been using some expired 220 portra nc which can’t go on any longer. Time to buy film. I am thinking I might start shooting 220 vc.

In this post…. Clay, Emily, Katherine, Alberta, London, Outside. It was 25 degrees out for some of these shots last saturday and there was some serious wind. Tonight (7 days later) it’s -4.

Actually a gentleman named Derek Vincent purchased the camera on my behalf and shipped it to me. He was extremely helpful and I owe him greatly. Anyhow I just put my first roll through it and am very happy. It was mostly boring photos and as such I will share them here. The rest of the shots are 645 from my bronica. The back broke while I was on a camping trip so I never even finished the roll so I just got it processed now.

In other news my friend liz months ago posted a note saying “The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me.”. I was one of those five people and as a result she made me some delicious Jams and I’ve really enjoyed them. But part of the deal was that I would have to do the same thing.

So the first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me. I don’t know what it will be yet and I’m not sure how long it will take but it will get done. Everyone is free to respond I dont need to know you.

Here is a random shot from the summer. Clay (the gentleman in this shot) is moving to Mexico with his girlfriend (my close friend Emily) in a week or so. So here is to you clay!

This is my first digital post in a very long time. I went camping this past labour day weekend with Katherine, Lindsay, Will, Emily, Clay, Alnis, and Brooke. We had a wonderful time. We went up to Koshlong lake which is near Haliburton. We stayed on a fabulous piece of crown land. I put my canoe on my car and we made the trek up north. These shots are all from a digital camera. They are presented from newest to oldest. This first shot is Emily the day before we left. The last shot is when we arrived in the woods in the dark trying to find our way to the camp sight. Will was quite knowledgeable of the area and had camped here many times before so he had marked the site with some rocks at the service road. Anyhow I have included a shot of Lindsay driving in front of my car because I think it’s funny to take digital shots that look somewhat in the style of commercial car ads. This attempt was far from it but it’s still a funny cliche.

I went up to montreal for the Rogers Cup. I had never been to a tennis tournament before and Evan was kind enough to host me. We have a portrait that sums up our weekend nicely.

Some of the other shots are from when clay and emily and I went and hung out with my parents and took their boat out for a spin. More shots of me than usual on that little trip.

I got new batteries for my camera but am still having trouble metering with my 50mm, not sure what the deal is, but I’ve just been metering externally.

We canoed out into some lakes north of Haliburton. It was cold, very cold. They were calling for snow on the sunday that we were there. We went for a hike in the woods then hung out on the beach a bit, played cards, risk, chess. I did a bit of kiteboarding on sunday but the wind wasn’t very strong. We found a dimeonback toad too. Anyhow it was a pretty excellent retreat.

Wow that was quick. I took a few photos this summer. I also moved during the middle of the summer which took a lot of my time and energy but the rest of the time was pretty good. So I processed some film this week. The colour stuff is from one of those point and shoot one time use waterproof cameras, I had never used one before, it wasn’t bad, obviously not a real camera, but at least it’s film. Anyhow those are from camping for Stephs birthday. There are shots from my families cottage Katherine and I out on the boat with my mom and dad. There is Nicks house warming party/Clays last night in town. There’s beasley and I finding a TV.  I guess that’s it! Nothing special, just random stuff. I also think that my contax camera is leaking light. Might be time to bite the bullet and get one of those leica m6′s.

So at the wedding we borrowed Stevens camera (because I was taking wedding photos with mine) and I set up a portrait studio in a small cabin and in the reception hall the next day. Clay, Gordon, and myself took shifts taking photos and in the end managed to photograph 116 people. Yesterday Clay and I (with help from my girlfriend, Katherine) framed most of the shots and presented them to Alnis and Brooke. They were happy and so were we. I think Alnis is going to put all these up on facebook, but I thought I may as well put them up here too. Click Here to see the whole set.
